Hertfordshire Removals

About us

A Hertfordshire firm that tailors every move

We’re a removals company rooted in Hertfordshire — the towns and the new towns, the cathedral city and the garden cities, the villages and the commuter belt. We know the county, and we plan each move to suit it.

Hertfordshire Removals grew out of a simple idea: a move should be planned around you, not around a rigid package. Too many firms quote from a template and hope it fits. We do the opposite — we survey first, understand the home and the access, and set out a plan tailored to your particular move, whether that’s a Watford flat, a Stevenage family house or a listed St Albans townhouse.

Being a Hertfordshire business, we deal with what the county actually throws at a move: the town-centre access at Watford, the conservation streets and period homes of St Albans and Hertford, the new-town layouts of Hemel and Stevenage, and the garden-city roads of Welwyn — all with the M1, M25 and A1(M) threading through. That local knowledge is the difference between a move that runs and one that stalls.

What we believe

Tailored, not templated

We plan each move around your home and your needs — the property, the access, the timing — rather than fitting you into a one-size box.

A proper county firm

We work the whole of Hertfordshire, so we know the M1, M25 and A1(M) junctions, the conservation streets and the new-town estates before we arrive.

Clear, up front

No prices flashed on the page and no confusing options. You get a clear written quote and a plan you can follow, set out before you book.

Careful hands

Most of what we move can’t be replaced. We protect floors, wrap the fragile things, and treat your belongings the way we’d want ours treated.

Local roots, European reach

Most of our work is close to home — a house across Watford, a family upsizing near St Albans, a business move in Stevenage. But Hertfordshire sends plenty of people abroad too, so we run a European arm to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, planned as one journey from your door with the post-Brexit paperwork kept straight. Same team, same tailored approach, whether you’re moving across the county or across the Channel.

The Hertfordshire we cover

  • Watford (WD17–WD25) — The busy town in the south-west by the M1 and M25 — the high street and the Parade, Cassiobury’s villas, and the commuter estates towards Croxley.
  • St Albans (AL1–AL4) — The cathedral city on Roman Verulamium — Georgian and listed homes, the conservation streets, and the affluent villages out towards Harpenden.
  • Hemel Hempstead (HP1–HP3) — The new town in the west by the Magic Roundabout — the old town, the estates on the hills, and the Grand Union canal side.
  • Stevenage (SG1–SG2) — Britain’s first new town in the north — the neighbourhoods and the Old Town, with quick A1(M) links up and down the county.
  • Welwyn & Hatfield (AL6–AL10) — Garden City and aviation heritage — the tree-lined Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield’s university and the villages of the Mimram valley.
  • Hertford (SG13–SG14) — The county town where the Lea meets its tributaries — the castle and old streets, riverside homes and the villages towards Ware.

If your move touches a Hertfordshire address, it’s our home turf. Tell us about it and we’ll tailor a plan to suit.
